A short update
This is just a brief update – the monthly update coming hopefully next week will be much more substantial. This week was quite hectic, but also quite exciting, so there's lots of positive news to talk about:
I've decided on the new team members, and they're both eager to start! They won't be able to start right away, since they still have obligations to other projects at this time, but if all goes well they'll still be able to officially begin work within the month, or in the very least the start of next month. I'll be sure to let them introduce themselves in the monthly.
Despite the team search taking up much more time than expected, I managed to get all of the remaining tasks I had scheduled for the 0.0.3 release done. The only thing missing now is a new level, which I'm working on now. The release will probably be out sneakily today or tomorrow, but a proper announcement about the new version will be in the monthly.
Here's a short list of the bigger new stuff:
Integrated feedback system. Just hit a button and you can send a comprehensive feedback report with system information, screenshot, save state, and log directly to me.
Sound! Movement now causes sound effects and there's a sample music track playing as well to set the mood a bit.
Ropes allow you to climb cliffs you otherwise couldn't scale.
Dialogue and quests! Both of the systems are back in and working nicely. A simple sample quest with a few inspectable items will be in the demo.
There's a bunch more minor improvements that I'll leave for you to discover.
See you for the monthly update coming soon!
